METAL 7 inc. is located in Sept-Îles, in the province of Quebec, Canada. production consists of fabricating and repairing equipment for the primary industry, more specifically the Iron Ore Pellet Plants and Pulp and Paper Mills.
- Coatings -
Coating technologies involve pulverizing a material in fusion in order to
- rebuild worn surfaces (internal or external) to restore the original dimensions of a part.
- modify the surface characteristics of a part to better fit its environment. The required results may be as varied as the following :
- increase the durability of a part by protecting it from abrasion, corrosion, erosion, high temperatures, oxidation and its effects;
- decrease or increase electrical conductivity;
- increase the performance & the productivity of the part.
METAL 7 has more than 15 years of experience in the coatings field. The company possesses a wide variety of technological applications and applies very diverse materials (metallic and ceramic).
- Numerical Analysis -
The company has equipped itself with powerful computer equipment in order to study and simulate the behavior of parts and/or complex systems. They are mainly used to better understand the parameters affecting the efficiency of the part and to evaluate the impact of new concepts. These tools allow METAL 7 to rapidly obtain results and in many cases, increase the precision of the calculations.
- Combustion Departement -
In the mid 1980's, METAL 7 also directed its production efforts towards industrial burners which are mainly used in indurating furnaces in Iron Ore Pellet Plants and in industrial boilers (heavy fuel oil burners and more recently, natural gas).
Since then the Combustion Department's activities have become more extensive. Its activities have expanded to include the redesign of parts for industrial furnaces, the conception and production of tools for process control as well as the increase of energy efficiency in furnaces and boilers.
- Machining -
The company has al its disposal a wide variety of machining equipment, a welding shop and a technical support department. This ensures that the concept, the design and the finished part will meet the clients' requirements.
- Commitment to Quality -
METAL 7 operates under rigorous production standards and has a qual4 assurance program for its machining operations including the production of industrial burners, welding and thermal spray coating. METAL 7's Quality Assurance Program has been registered under the international ISO 9001:2000 standard since June 2002.
- International Operations -
Nearly 40% of METAL 7's production is used by foreign clients largely made up of iron ore companies (pellet plants) and the paper industry. Its products are used worldwide including the following countries: United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Sweden, Russia, Norway, Bahrain and India.
- Research & Development-
METAL 7 invests a substantial amount of dollars into its Research and Development Department every year These investments may be used for fine tuning new coating applications and combustion research (burners and industrial furnace parts). The amount of research equipment and teams of engineers and technicians that are assigned to the R&D projects demonstrates the company's willingness to maintain its competitive edge.
