In the Winter 2009 Mine to Port magazine produced by Rio Tinto IOC, the article on Page 7 describes the new wear-resistant burner gun tips developed by the Metal 7 team. This tip is the product of several years of research, as well as extensive laboratory and field testing.
The advantage of the new burner gun tip lies in its tungsten carbide wear ring, which provides increased wear resistance to heavy oil.
