Metal 7 has a qualified team on standby for equipment repair at the customer’s plant. Work can vary from the most simple machining in place, to the complete restauration of damaged parts, via application of coatings on structural parts which have corroded over time.

Machining

The portable lathe unit enables machining of components directly in place. The tool does its work by rotating around the work-piece. The tool can be used on stationary parallel or conic shafts (to a maximum of 6°) and from 8" diameter to a maximum of 27" long, in order to :

• re-machine a support surface for the installation of a bearing or seal ring;


• machine a surface for installation of a bushing or sleeve;


• pre-machine a shaft to prepare for the application of a plasma arc coating which will be machined to its original dimensions.
